As part of the Minerva Consortium, TQ Education and Training Ltd was awarded a 28 year PFI contract by the MoD for the new DSFC. This opened in September 2005 and replaced the Army Sixth Form College
at Welbeck, North Nottinghamshire. TQ are responsible for curriculum and education, the management of all educational learning resources including ICT, library and learning resource facilities, sport and pastoral
care. Subjects taught at the college include AS/A2 Level Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History,Government & Politics, Economics and Business Studies, Geography, Electronics, Design & Technology Systems & Control), Computing and Sport and PE.

The primary responsibility of the Teacher is to deliver Electronics to AS and A-2 level students. Reporting directly to the Head of Science Faculty this will include:
- Motivating, encouraging and developing qualities of independence, adaptability and perseverance in students
- Producing schemes of work, lesson plans and other departmental documentation as required
- Shared responsibility for identifying appropriate materials required for the resourcing of the department
- Maintenance of classroom area and production of appropriate display materials
- Planning, administering and marking studentsâ work
- Writing reports on a regular basis and liaising as appropriate with parents
- Attending Science Faculty meetings
- Acting as a tutor to a group of 18 students
- Participate in college day and evening duties
- Organise and coordinate student and teacher exchange programmes
- Organise effective planning, coordination and monitoring of all curriculum matters relevant to the subject area
- Be aware of the needs and reactions of young adolescents in a residential situation
- To contribute to extra-curricular life of the college and participate in the boarding supervision rota
- Assist with outdoor pursuits, games and/or Combined Cadet Force
Hours: Staff will deliver normal teaching duties over Monday to Friday plus Saturday mornings, plus take a share of boarding school duties and extra-curricular activities.
Relevant degree
Qualified Teacher Statue, ie. Cert Ed/PGCE qualification
Sound knowledge of relevant subject area
âASâ and âAâ Level teaching experience in Electronics
Effective communication skills, oral and written
Through understanding of ICT in educational administration and communication systems along with good ICT skills
Knowledge or experience of boarding education
Ability to teach/instruct adventurous training to students would be highly desirable
Experience of Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme
