Desktop Publishing Assistant (Temporary/Part Time)(UK)

Location:	TQ Catalis, Lockington, Derby or home working
Package:	Negotiable hourly/daily rate, dependent upon experience/qualifications
Contract:	Temporary for up to 3 months. Part time/flexible hours, 7 hrs/day, 3-4 days per week initially
Start Date:	5 or 9 January 2012
Reporting To:	Marketing Manager

Description:

TQ Education and Training Ltd is a provider of outsourced training requirements to the Ministry of Defence, other Public Sector organisations and private companies, both in the UK and overseas. TQ Catalis is our rail-training division who offer tailored training courses to the rail and construction industry.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the DTP Assistant will be responsible for assisting with updating and re-working our MS Powerpoint training presentations and courses. You will work under the expert guidance of our highly skilled Desktop Publisher in providing a creative and professional desktop publishing service to TQ Catalis, that meets agreed specifications and timescales. The main duties will include:

• Updating and re-working existing MS Powerpoint Presentations and Word Documents and provide design solutions that meet client specification
• Format and proof materials and undertake amendments as necessary
• Plan and schedule your workload to meet deadlines
• Liaison with TQ and TQ Catalis staff as necessary to ensure task is completed

Post Requirements:

Essential

• Previous experience in Desktop Publishing or Graphic Design (may suit a newly qualified graphic designer)
• Creative design skills and an eye for detail
• Ability to work accurately to deadlines
• Excellent IT skills (MS Word, Powerpoint) and capable of using DTP applications (ie Adobe Photoshop)
• Ability to work on own initiative and also within a team
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively 
• Good organisational/time management skills and ability to prioritise

Desirable

• Relevant qualification in either Desktop Publishing or graphic design
