Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) VQ Project

TQ provides Refinery Process Operator training for KNPC; this involves the teaching of Basic Hydrocarbons and Refinery Operations together with Communication Skills, Working with Others and Problem Solving. Successful candidates gain an internationally recognised City & Guilds Vocational Qualification. Training is made up of on/off the job training, with both workshop based training and trainees entering various refineries to undertake NVQ assessments. This joint project between KNPC and TQ has been operating since 2000, with approximately 300 trainees per year graduating from the scheme before they move on to specialised training in one of the three KNPC refineries. TQ also provides training for KNPC Refinery Training Staff and experienced Refinery Process Operators to gain the City & Guilds Assessor (A1) Qualification to allow career development of Process Operators in the workplace.
