Turkish Universities Project (1992-1996)

In 1991 TQ was awarded a 66.75 million contract by YK, the Turkish Council for Higher Education, to supply and manage the provision of equipment and services to 27 technological state universities at 33 sites throughout Turkey over a 4-year period. TQ carried out an in-country feasibility study, drew up final equipment procurement specifications and project managed the re equipping of workshops and laboratories at the university sites throughout Turkey. In addition to carrying out installation and commissioning, training was given to university staff in the use of the new equipment. The project was managed by dedicated teams based at TQ's premises in both the UK and Turkey. Equipment was shipped to a specially designed warehouse in Ankara for re-distribution to the universities, with specialist computer software utilised to control the complex logistics involved.
