The Saudi British Electronics Institute (1998-2003)

TQ secured a 5-year contract to establish and operate an electronics training institute in Riyadh. With control over all aspects of the project, TQ was responsible for bespoke curriculum development; staff recruitment and training; provision of a management structure; development of IT, including an MIS; equipment and furniture; and contracting with service providers for facilities management and catering. The aims of the institute were to meet local employment needs within the specialist field of electronics; allow progression into home country and overseas higher education systems; and meet professional institute membership requirements in terms of educational background. The curriculum for the institute was completely tailor-made and accredited by the Scottish Qualifications Authority. The standards were supported by a quality assurance system linked to a Business Excellence Model, which ensured all students achieved recognisable and measurable training outcomes.
