FloFuse (Injection)

Overview

The FloFuse Injection valve is an autonomous injection control device that limits the flow of injected fluids into high permeability (thief) zones, and natural or induced fractures, to ensure effective flow distribution in fractured or highly heterogeneous reservoirs.

This device is a biased open valve which enables water injection at normal distribution rates but closes once a trigger flow rate through the valve is exceeded, analogous to a circuit breaker in an electrical distribution network. When combined with a FloExtreme Injection ICD, restricted injection can be sustained in the target zone even when the FloFuse valve has been triggered closed.

FloFuse Injection delivers:

  • effective autonomous response to unanticipated or changing injectivity conditions
  • improved reservoir sweep
  • reduced water production
